Nyunge Forest Day Trip
Ancient rainforest, suspended bridges, rare primates, and one of Africa’s most breathtaking nature experiences.
Far from the busy streets of Kigali lies a completely different world.
Hidden in Rwanda’s southwest, Nyungwe National Park is one of Africa’s oldest rainforests — a vast green wilderness filled with mist-covered mountains, waterfalls, birds, and wildlife moving through the treetops. The journey is long, but the reward is unforgettable.
This experience is less about speed and more about immersion.
As you enter the forest, the air becomes cooler, the roads quieter, and nature takes over completely. You may hear birds before you see them. Monkeys move quickly through the trees overhead while butterflies and forest sounds surround the trails.
One of the highlights of the trip is the famous suspended canopy bridge — hanging high above the rainforest with incredible panoramic views stretching across the jungle below. For many visitors, it becomes the moment they remember most.
Nyungwe is also home to chimpanzees, colobus monkeys, orchids, and hundreds of bird species, making it one of the most biodiverse places in Rwanda. (africanparks.org )
This is Rwanda at its wildest, greenest, and most untouched.
